Odd that there isn't actually...
Longshot - it's easy to start a club if there is a suitable range (which there will be) - find out if there are any like minded people and contact SADPA and start a club. You will be assisted in the start-up, so training and club equipment.
It is worth it.
Was actually just about to suggest the same thing. Here is a link to the SADPA Club Started Kit on the SADPA Website. Take a gander...Quote:

I currently participate in IPSC at BPSK ( Bloem Practical ...). Although the club does not have a million members the SA no1 production guy is there and about five guys with provincial colours. They are not that keen on changing to IDPA as it involves new everything and they would loose their provincial and national colours.
There is a suitable range, there are too few like minded people though. I have tried to increase the membership at the club the past two years and could only get 4 new guys.
Wil find out if it is possible to share the range and if I could start a club from scratch. A big problem is knowledge, most of what I've learnt about IPSC is from the member at the club.
PS. I enyou IPSC a lot, I think it is a great SPORT. IDPA should help me more WTSHTF
SADPA will support you with knowledge.
There are quite a few clubs that do just that - share club facilities and ranges with IPSC/SAPSA.
Are you competing against your buddies or against yourself?
"I can get a better score if I load less powder / fit a red dot / get a fast draw holster"... sure, but points on the board don't count for much when the chips are down.
The one outstanding feature of IDPA is the "failure to do right" rule. Without that, IDPA would be IPSC, or silhouettes, or any other sport where money buys points on the board.
I approach IDPA as a test of myself. I suck. I suck a lot less than I used to suck, and a lot more than I will suck, but, I suck.
And Revolver? If you ain't broken it you ain't shooting it enough. Revolvers are more forgiving but not more reliable. There is a difference.
