I am bow hunting this year for the first time.

I want to go for a wildebeest but don't know if my setup is correct.

Choose a decent fixed blade broadhead, don't go too light in terms of arrow weight, and make sure your bow is tuned correctly. Then work on shot placement and you will be fine.
