I have been looking at getting an affordable .45 to use in idpa.
Does anyone have any experience with these?
They look pretty good and the reviews online are positive as well.
Also what do they cost here in ZA?

Talk to stefanvan here on the forum. He'll sort you out good and proper!
Is there support for this here?
for a 1911 what sort of support you looking for?
and YES to your answer
Mine is ok,but I think the magazines that came with it aren't.I don't know why but filling the 8 round mags to capacity occaisionally causes failure to eject. My old Norinco 7rnd mags work way better.
The ambi safety lever was a bit wobly ,so I swaped it .
I havent shot it from the bench yet but with a randomly selected reload I was able to keep most of 50 shots in 8" offhand @ 25 yards. But I'm not the best shot in the world.
Have only fired about 200 rounds so far and aside from the issue with the FTE (mag)I like it.

By support I mean parts. Must say, I fondled a norinco clone the other day and was very impressed with the build quality. Maybe also an option.
maybe someone will start up a norinco 1911 thread ...
i was given to understand that Tanfoglio will be fully supported in RSA
Seraph, PM sent...
Yep, we will be supporting the complete range of Tanfoglio pistols including the 1911. The 1911 is a millSpec & should take any standard after market parts you might want to use. Although if you'd like a sport 1911 have a look at the 1911 custom. It has most things you'd like on a sport pistol and any further custom mods can be done inhouse by Numenor gunsmiths. Contact me at any time if there's any questions. Btw, these pistols are on special for the first batch to be brought in...
Good to see Tanfoglio being supported locally again. I will be in touch.
Sean.
