Re: Gunshops where good service is given.
ABHM,
It sounds like if your epic holiday journey was like mine...I visited a gunshop in just about all the towns that I went to....
1. Welkom - Van Riebeeck Cycle House
2. Welkom - Gunsmoke
3. Bothaville - Co-op
4. Kroondal (just outside Rustenburg) - AUG Bherens
5. Krugersdorp - Camdix
6. JHB - The Powder Keg
7. JHB - Nicholas Yale
8. JHB - Sharp Edge
9. Bloem - Kloppers
and the wallet was opened at 7 of the 9 shops........ grn1

Sorry man, I only saw ur question now. Brooklyn circle is in Erasmia, near Zwartkops. They specialise in Austrian mainly Voere and Steyr Mannlicher. Double rifles, double shotguns, weird calibre European ammo, Swarovski scopes and the owner and his wife are really helpful. He is a target shooter and has hunted just about all antelope species so he gives solid advice as well
Re: Gunshops where good service is given.
Arms CC in Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria.
Gunsmith there called Chad. Fitted my Trijicon sights - good workmanship, good price. Makes wooden grips as well.
Re: Gunshops where good service is given.
+1 for Gareth at Dave Sheer. He is always helpful & you can always negotiate a better deal with him. Karien & Akkie also do a great job. Keep up the good work happy0065
Re: Gunshops where good service is given.
im suprised that no one mentioned bluderbuss in Alberton.
If you are in the market for re-laoding kit, that place is like a scratch patch with pices of gold tossed in and their prices are the fairest in the land ;-)

I've been thinking about a progressive press. I'll give them a try thanks!

I bought my gun at Arms CC in Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria., found them to be very rude and un helpfull until I came in the next morning with a wallet full of cash then they got friendly!
Re: Gunshops where good service is given.
There used to be a Gunshop in Welkom. He knew his stuff and also did some gunsmithing. However the only time when he was friendly was when the till made the 'ching-ching' noise or when he had a liquid refreshment in the hand. Until today I do not really know how he made a living as it seemed that he had a handfull of close friends as customers. Maybe it was his wife that kept the place going as she was at least friendly and more than prepared to assist if you wanted to look at something. His prices was in general also more expensive than other places.
Re: Gunshops where good service is given.
I always got good service at VLT, they are usually quite bussy though, not much time for chatting.
Does none of the members live in Nelspruit?
Pieter at Gunshoppe is always friendly and helpful and Fanie and Eugene from Magnum arms are very knowledgeable and helpful.
If you go to Arms in Waterkloof speak to Gavin.
I find the guys from Classic Arms are always very helpful.
Skietwinkel and Safari and Outdoor are very efficient when dealing with telephone orders.
What we need is something the equivalent of Cabellas in every major node in SA. hpy180
