Good Samaritan trips fleeing suspect in Mitchells Plain

A video has emerged showing a good Samaritan intervening and tripping a fleeing suspect who was allegedly shoplifting at a mall in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town. Watch.


According to Myertal Tactical Security director Clifford Gobetz, an arrest took place thanks to a collaborative effort between their off-site CCTV control room, on-site guarding and the handy footwork of a bystander.


"The incident took place on the 27th April at a shopping centre in Mitchell's Plain," Clifford told News24.


"Once the suspect was apprehended, SAPS were contacted and an arrest was made."
