I have found that state of mind, mood, fatigue, stress, physical condition, biorythms etc. all have a significant effect on shooting performance. My best shooting happens when I am rested, relaxed and shoot more sub-conciously than conciously. My focus is on the target and the gun almost fires itself when everything is lined up perfectly. Off course, this does not always happen.

You don't need vast amounts of ammo if you dry fire.
In 3 years of ipsc shooting, I've trained with a max of 50 live rounds. I've managed to achieve over 80% at provincial level. I know guys who've done better.
