what's the story behind this?
i'm assuming it's a local in afghanistan or iraq?
Yes sir, it was when I was in Afghanistan and working
with the the American military who was instructors for
the the ANP (Afghan National Police).
The best place for me was on the FOBs (Front Operational bases)
where we shot with the AKs, M4, M9, SAW49 (M249), SAW40 (M240)
PKM, Barret 50 cal, and RPG's.
Not many South Africans had the opportunity to work on the FOBs.
Clark, Rushmore, Shirana, Salerno, and now I forget the one in Khost.
Then the company's bases was Camp Gibson in Kabul
and Calerno in Patika Province.
In Rushmore the way to short out your differences when the
the Afghan military take on Afghan police is by shooting at eatch
other with full automatic weapons.
well Salerno is the one in Khost, I am assuming you dont mean the ODA base between Khost and Matun Hill, I dont know the name of the FOB on the Matun Hill side of Khost which was colocated with the ANA Brigade base although I spent about 9 months there.
Salerno had the best PX, well until you got to the bases in Kabul, Eggers was better but Pheonix and the ISAF PX's at KIA were really cool, then again all the comforts of home were great when you spent time in the provinces! At least it didnt have the fricking awful smell of KAF. FOB's aside the most awesome spot was the Marco Polo in Herat, loved that grilled chicken!
oops I almost forgot Bagram now that was a awesome base!
Look's like the 48th brigade from Georgia Patch on the PASGT, I was with some very cool guys from SA in Nangarhar.. said they were former Koevoet and SADF and worked with Dyn.. nice cowboy moves..
