IMO the people who vote for them are the even bigger problem. There's a demographic shift underway and it's to people who have been conditioned to value feels over facts and to ignore reality if it doesn't fit the feely script. These people are required to enable Klaus' bright shiny young leaders just as Lenin's 'useful idiots' were.

Great thread Curious George. Put a lot of good things out and nice to see someone on the same page.

Re: Your freedom in the future vs big tech and gov't
I obviously cannot speak from the SA perspective, but my friend in Durban surely can:
“I am also consulting with a lawyer as I have not heard a peep from our Central Firearms Registry on any of my firearm license renewals since July of last year. Yup, I am going to take the authorities to court as they have not (ever) come to do what they said they will do and then I will subtract the amount it costs me from my taxes and motivate my action accordingly. Then we'll see whether "they" will do what they promised or F' me up. In the words of that famous / skinny fella from Tennessee: "I don't care". I think there are close to a million gun owners whom will follow my lead .... I am sick and tired of this incompetency. The next step is to approach all in my neighbourhood and do the same with our rates and taxes. This used to be a sought after area and so, our rates are extraordinary high, but nothing has been done in this area since 1992! Some of our roads need tarring, electrical lighting needs to be fixed, sidewalks are falling apart, water supply etc. We can have all these things done ourselves, using proper and skilled contractors that will do a better job than any of the authorities, at our own costs .... but then, this will be subtracted from our rates and taxes. I already have a few quotes and we will start the legal papers tomorrow.
luta continua”
