That's a relief. Also hope that they are able to put in a better performance.

Has STF training and requirements stayed the same over the years?

I always heard that they are a wildly impressive unit, and always have been

From that old article what I find amazing is we submit a unit for the WHOLE country.

America submits units from Sherriffs offices/counties lol (Yes I am aware that the USA is large)

Wouldn't it be nice to step away from centralized policing to provincial, where each province had its own budget and special units.....

@gazz: that's what da has been pushing. If can go under provincial control they can improve it and control resources.

I hope these guys put up a great performance and do well, but for a STF team member (i presume its a STF member in Grobbies post) to complain that the penalty is harsh for nicking a hostage is ridiculous, that is a potential hostage that was shot or have the standards dropped so much that newer STF members find it acceptable to injure/potentially kill a hostage.
The STF members i had the honor of knowing and working in the 90's would have trained harder to make sure that never happens again.......... but then again there were less complaints and more harder work in general in those days.

In the end it is still a game and people will game it, they might be a lot more cautious in real life.

If you have done any competitive shooting you would know that sometimes you decide to shoot outside of your capability to push the gaming limit.
