Re: Advice for new scope - please
I have a niteforce nxs 5-22×50 on my 264.
Very happy with glass and its performance.
I see there is a nxs for sale second hand in one of the threads on jaracal.

Re: Advice for new scope - please
If you're going to target shoot, you need a scope that can dial easily, if you going to crawl in the bush, the turrets need to be capped or lockable.
As you go up in price, you get target scopes with lockable turrets, but I'm not sure you'll find a scope to do both jobs well at that price. And as you go more expensive, the scopes are bigger and heavier, so it affects the hunting part.
This is a perfectly good reason to chamber a second rifle in the same caliber - one for hunting, one for targets, and you can use the same dies and brass.
Do the math, I think you'll find two rifles with medium [ 12k ] priced scopes comes close to one rifle with a high end [ 40k ] scope.War is convincing young people to kill complete strangers who are not a threat to them personally.
