Big Game Hunting Photos
Buffalo 2.jpg
Not the biggest buffalo around, but certainly my biggest. Hunted on my sister-in-law's concession in Mozambique.

Re: Big Game Hunting Photos
Gamefarmer you are far too modest. It really is a very nice buffalo. What did it measure? My wild guess is 41 inches. If it is less, then your real name is actually "GAMEFRAMER"!!!

Re: Big Game Hunting Photos
Thanks. I'm waiting for the mount, and not sure on the size. What I really liked was that it was a present. Free. How cool is that?
You're joking, my first attempt at joining resulted in exactly that version. GameFramer. For a moment there I thought you had 'inside information'. Blush. Obviously I never took typing at school, and grammar... well lets suffice to say that I had a well-endowed English teacher.

Must have been a Freudian slip. I "discovered" the pun, as I typed the response, looking how nice the 3 of you fit in the frame.
The fact that you dont even know the spread of the horns, is a huge PLUS. It shows that to you, the hunt is more important than to brag about the size of the trophy.
You should hunt for the experience, and keep the trophy as a memoir of the special experience.
Though the size of the trophy, and even record books do have a place, it is not the most important aspect.
I have had my fair share of buffalo hunting, and cherish those memories.

Re: Big Game Hunting Photos
Luke! First, thank you. Second, your avatar is so distracting that I battle to complete my sentence
I've just completed a short story on that specific buffalo, that I'll post in due course. I've shot the buffalo with a 416 Remington, although I would've preferred to use my Rigby. Time constraints and bad flying weather made it impossible to get the permits sorted. But the Remington did well, and the buffalo dropped right on the spot. My follow up shot was a mere formality. I hunted slap bang in the middle of the Mozambique swamps. Truly an experience of a lifetime. But let me not spoil my story....

Thanks. Here is a picture of the entourage needed to carry the buffalo back. 4 hour walk, back to the truck.
