Star BM Recoil & Mag springs

A friend of mine has a Star BM, and we're quite sure its recoil spring needs replacement, and probably one of the mag springs too. Any idea where these springs can be sourced, or perhaps of equivalent springs that can be used?

K-Mag make BM mags so may be able to supply mag springs.

Thanks, should be able to source mags locally from Special Armory too, but the recoil spring has me a bit stumped.

Pirate, for my Super B, I used a standard 1911 recoil spring sourced from Shooting Stuff in Centurion. I opted for a slightly heavier spring than the original spec and it works great. Hopefully a 1911 spring will work for you, just minus some coils.

I would look for something of a different gun that is of similar wire thickness and diameter to adapt from as a start. There should be a few common pistols that have something similar. Failing that you could get something custom wound from your sample. Up here Weblor Springs would be where I'd try.

Pretty sure Wolff Gun springs will have a solution or 3 for your friend's Star BM.
