Open horizontal carry of a primary knife at small of the back

A honest question from the uninformed. I have recently seen a trend of patriots carrying knifes in this fashion. Sometimes the person will also be carrying openly a Handgun.

So please educate me. Because my personal, uninformed opinion is that this is dangerous. I think it will be easy to disarm someone carrying this way. Scenario: Assailant walks behind subject. Subject is pre-occupied or has grocery bags in his hand/s. Assailant grabs knife from SOTB, stabs subject and subsequently disarm the victim.

I'm open to be educated. Your inputs please.

Despite the availability of knowledge, people are often very uninformed. Secondly, people often do not know what reality looks like. Hence they assume that they know enough and are capable enough. "The worst mistake one can make, is to assume that the other person thinks and feels like you do."

So they do what looks good and feels right.

It's a dumb idea from the very top of the pile of dumb ideas. 'Open carry' where what you are carrying is intended to be used for self defense against criminals is like leaving the code for your alarm system and password for cancelling your armed response written on the security company sign on your wall.

Any carry at small of back is a bad idea unless it's a soft item. Falling on to it can cause injuries

Horizontal belt carry or appendix carry of knives is popular because ti's accessible in the clinch or on the floor. Small of back is not
