Default El Salvador begins "war on crime"

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-64770716

Thousands of half, naked, tattooed crooks being marched into a new mega prison, where they will remain for several decades.

While I don't agree with arresting suspects or spying on citizens without a warrant, the gangs in El Salvador are truly vicious and it's understandable that the state has to do something to crack down on them. Some of the measures, like increasing the jail terms for being gang bosses or gang membership, lowering the age of criminal responsibility are good. The human rights groups are up in arms, but then again they are generally all a bunch of out of touch SJW's who love criminals.

Should South Africa do something similar to combat our out of control crime?

For the record, I am opposed to detention without trial, flogging, limb amputations public executions and crap like that. But increasing the legal punishments of convicted criminals and speeding up criminal trials (like we had with special courts during the World Cup a decade ago), lowering the age of criminal responsibility, as well as making it illegal to have gang tattoos would be very good ideas to reduce crime here.

Actually convicting criminals under the current law would all ready be a massive boost in the fight against crime, oh and 30 years plus for murder, life is so cheap in SA

One nice big prison for them all to learn from each other in and form stronger gang ties. And if you're convicted incorrectly, you will definitely be a violent criminal by the time you come out

Being a tattoo artist in that prison seems to be a full time job
