Durban - An 18-year old matric pupil was killed and his elder brother was wounded when a group of men hijacked a vehicle in Pinetown on Wednesday evening, KwaZulu-Natal emergency personnel said.

"The 22-year-old was speaking to a friend outsidewhen the suspects arrived in a vehicle and demanded the keys to the friend's car," said ER24 spokesperson Derrick Banks.

The 22-year-old man jumped over the property's fence, calling for help.

The men shot him in the leg.

His 18-year old brother, who was a twin, came out of the house, and was shot in the face and died on the scene

No one else was injured.

The twin brothers were currently writing their matric exams.

The men got away with a blue Toyota Yaris.

"Police on the scene said this was the fourth hijacking, or attempted hijacking, in the area tonight," said Banks.
