My experience with fire-forming is limited to converting .375 H&H cases to .416 rem mag, however that is a simple process as both cartridges head space on the belt.
With a .300 win mag to .300 wsm conversion the process will be more complicated, but if .375 H&H to .404 Jeff is possible this might be feasible.
