Re: Allumium vs Steel Picatinny
Pirate, I have purchased a Warne Mountaintech rail. 7075 Alluminium and has a hard coating on. I bet the coating will be harder than the alluminium so the rail should not wear out by constant changing between optics.
When mounting rails I always use Loctite between the surfaces. Degreasing with Acetone and then fix everything.
Hope the rail will work, but it should. I have compared the weight of the mountain tech vs steel rails. Notable difference by just picking them up!
Now mr "old school" is modernizing his ways with the youngster.

Mooi man...
If you're "Adoons" then I guess the youngster can properly be called "Fielies"

Warne's Mountain Tech range of rails and rings are very good! You will be happy with it.

Out of interests sake, what Loctite do you use?
I always use “Blue” retaining compound on thread and “Green” Bearing retainer between surfaces.
