Default HUNT GROUP MH12 - Fever Dream or practical firearm?

So I'm in the market for a pump action shotty.
So far the Winchester SXP range is catching my attention.

While searching the web for shotguns, I came across this, er, thing.

    HUNT GROUP MH12

    https://davesheer.com/product/hunt-group-mh12-black/

On the Hunt Group website, there are several configurations of this bad boy

    https://www.huntgrouparms.com/produc...double-barrel/

    MAGAZINE CAPACITY
    10+2,
    12+2,
    14+2,
    16+2

The amount of capacity some of these models have is mind blowing.

Looks like you can fire off two shots between each pump action.

Is this thing practical? Is it just an abomination?
Serious contender for defensive use( riots and the like) ?
    A fun toy?

Who has shot one / handled one?

In our country with iffy parts backup and support I wouldn't buy one of those any time soon. If you want a shotty for serious usage in fun or socially sensitive situations I'd go with one of the American or Italian brands in a lightly used state and more conventional configuration. No disrespect to the upcomers but they lack mileage and backup creds for me and my budget except as novelties.

I hear you Oaf. And at R19k, its not cheap. But until today, this was a concept I didnt know existed.
I'm still looking for a US / Italian branded shotgun lol.

I went to Dave sheet and played with one of these it’s a nice concept to mess around with for fun but as a defensive tool it very heavy hard to handle and just way to bulky to make it worth it

Thanks Ahmedoo. I rate until such a platform is proven or refined, it is just a fun toy.

Our very own Tony Neophytou made a twin tube shotty known as the Neostead 20 + years back. All of the Johnny come latelies would do well to get some consulting off him.

I'm a pathetic fanboi of the guy. Given a different time and place, like the US in the 60s and 70s, I think he could have been a much more internationally acclaimed firearms designer. His stuff is really innovative.

Pump gun prices have risen sharply recently. Wasn't long ago that a really good Mossberg, Winchester, Remington or Beretta could be picked up for under R5k.
