I've dispatched a few dozen “stray” dogs on our farm. Often in those cases it was poaching in progress. I don’t know much about regulations in this regard, but I would hope it falls under “probleem diere” & aught not be a legal matter… if it was miles away from home it’s not worth anything in the line of home security any ways, but that’s beside the point… As is some people’s idea of a pet. They seem to think the fact that they bought it, makes it a pet…
I long for an Airedale terrier as a buddy that can go jogging & hunting with me, but currently I do not have enough time to own a pet. If I buy a dog & neglect it, it’ll turn it into another dog that would end up like the one that gave rise to this thread…
If I find a jackal in the kraal I don’t phone around to check whose it is, I deal with it. For all you knew it could be aggressive & you did what was needed to protect your children…?
I adore hunting, but do not enjoy shooting stray dogs. We try to do everything possible to protect wildlife & it’s no use letting the dogs run amok.
