Power over Ethernet (POE) CCTV system recommendations
Good day.
Looking for some recommendations for a solid POE CCTV system from a good brand, i.e Hikvision/Hilook. Needs to be POE, 4/8 cameras/ NVR with option to add battery backup.
TIA!

The HIK vision brand is decent. Currently running two 64 Channel NVR's and about 50 cameras at work. Battery Backup you will be looking at a external UPS or inverter type setup. As you will need to power the NVR and the POE switch for the camera's.

I'm running Provision which is an Israeli system.
We opted for this specifically as it was not a Chinese system, and the Israeli's have a good track record on tech.
The camera's to my disappointment ARE made in PRC.
When it works it's OK. When you have issues my oath will you suffer.
In retrospect, I'd prolly go for the Chinese HikVision as it's vastly more user friendly..... BUT made in China.Israeli Carry is for dead people

Also look at Dahua.Look at their Tioc cams. They have active detterant lights that flash when motion is detected as well as built in speaker which can run an audio prompt.

Hikvision is the one. Price, ubiquity, dependability. But, throwing my 2c in to recommend analogue cameras over IP cameras. You still get streaming and whatever post-DVR. I don't know what your context is, but for general application, analogue cameras beat IP cameras in value. My opinion

Not if you plan on applying any kind of AI monitoring later.

I can recommend the UNV products. I prefer them to ProVision/HilVision and Dahua.

HIK or Dahua, they both good enough for the average end user.
As for backup battery, not sure anyone offers that, you going to need an inverter or get an NVR with onbaord POE and jerryrig it through a battery system.

I have installed a few. Get at least a 2 Mp camera. They all do the same and looks the same. If you start to mix your brand names together on one system, Pro vision look a bit better, Just my opinion.
