    Default Lee Enfield- general price?

    Howsit Chaps

Right so following my post on a tactical bolt action rifle and the post on manually opperated fighting rifles I have decided I need a lee enfield as a base to build my rifle.

What is a generally good price for a lee Enfield .303 in good condition?

    Stock standard.

    cheers
    Luke

anywhere from zero to 2500 grand... and R2500 would be steep - obviously dependant on model.

LukeS, if youre around Randburg sometime, pop into Kolskoot, in Strydompark and browse the many 303's on the rack there. They vary from old and knakkered to old and mint, and even sporterized. Youll get a good idea of price variation and what is going for what price.

Try for one with C in the serial number as they were made by Savage for the war effort. Do some research as I think even Remington manufactured some. The US PROPERTY mark appear on the action for those ex the USA. Very good actions.

    Are .303's still between 0-R2500?

Looking for one, budget of R3k.

The 1950 Long Branch rifles were known for accuracy and well finished off

Not sure but I eventually landed up with 2 for R2500 :)

One sporterized with scope and one standard.....must still get to modifying it.
