Gun laws
Hi guys, new to this site.
Just need some advice please. Can I use my friends rifle for the work that I am doing ( walking Safaris). I have my competency certificate for a rifle and hopefully be in the process of buying the rifle soon. Am I allowed to carry this firearm with his consent and if the unfortunate was to happen would it stand up in court?
Any advice would be appreciated
Regards Elephant

Hi Elephant, welcome to the forum, best you head to the Introductions post so that we can all give you a warm welcome.
You would need to use it under your friend's direct supervision, can't use it while he is not present.

Re: Gun laws
You still need a company accredited for business purposes before a firearm can be used for business use. Best start getting yourself set up as a CC.
Then apply for accreditation then license the firearm in your company name. OR you are Illegal.

Re: Gun laws
But for now you have to be under your friend's direct supervision when handling his firearm.

Re: Gun laws
As DDK says your buddy needs to supervise you. And if you do buy it then Dont license it in your personal name or your still unable to use it legally for business purposes. I do the same job as you and also suffered until I registered a CC and licensed the rifle in my CC name after attaining accreditation. PM me and I will help you with all you need having just completed the mission myself

Two years later... bet the OP is REAL excited about this advice.
