Default Gunfree South Africa - some facts they should see.

Bureau of Justice Statistics for violent crime.

Homicide is at its lowest since the 1960's

    Non-fatal firearm victimisation - down

    Non-fatal firearm-related crime - down

    Rape - DOWN !!

    Robbery - down

    Burglary -down

The bottom line is that all serious violent crime has been trending down while the "number of guns" in private hands continually increase over the same period !

Relevant in the States , shouldn't the same apply here ??

If Natalie Jaynes ( Gunfree South Africa) wanted to do something constructive she would be advocating for the return of shooting ranges on school properties and for the teaching of correct handling and safety skills for firearms.

Every law abiding citizen in South Africa should be armed , its the only way to solve our crime problem !!

Instead GFSA is stuck arguing for pointless restrictions that don't have a hope in hell off stopping criminals , who want to commit crimes, or from stopping them from getting guns.

Do you have some data on Canada, UK and Australia their most loved states that the GFSA (or rather the front for the Canadian Intelligence Services aimed at disarming South African citizens) has to use to back its theories...

    ---------- Post added at 10:56 ---------- Previous post was at 10:34 ----------

    No worries I did it

Geez these must hurt the Canadian Intelligence Agency's front in South Africa (aka GFSA)

Violent crime in Canada is 50% higher than in the USA

2006 use of illegal guns in crimes is increasing in Canada - geez this must have hurt

Wiki entry says that violent crime rates between US and Canada are "closing" - yet again... eina...

    Australia

Violent crime rate RISING AFTER gun ban! - Bwahahahahahahahahah!!!!!

Aussie government agency tries to massage stats.... heheheheheh - after gun ban Aussie citizens are MORE afraid of violent crime than before.... Eina

Britain and Australia have more per capita violent crimes than US - yet another body blow...

    Geez

I wonder what they'll say now

Maybe we should mention that in nations with total gun bans, like Jamaica, that nation rates THIRD on the per capita most likely to get murdered list under us and Colombia...

Amazingly we and Colombia have strictly regulated private ownership of hand guns.

Some homicide stats showing how SA rates against other countries. These stats are from the European Commission: Eurostat website which can be found here: http://epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu/por.../data/database

The SA stats have been verified with the SAPS crime stats which can be found here: http://www.saps.gov.za/statistics/re...rime_stats.htm

These are total number of homicides recorded by the police and not per number of the population. As can be seen, SA has more homicides recorded than the USA with all its guns yet SA has 6 times less people than the USA (Based on 2011-2012 stats: USA 311Mil, RSA 51.8mil) No wonder SA is called the murder capital of the world.

GFSA keep telling us that the implementation of the FCA has had the desired effect as a crime prevention tool and has caused a huge drop in the number of firearm related deaths in SA. (Figures of 50% are thrown around) The data and graphs below shows their statements to be bullsh!t as can be expected.

The data does not show any correlation between the implementation of the FCA and the decline in the firearm homicide numbers or rates in South Africa for the period 1995-2007.

Firearm homicide stats according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Source is http://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/data-a.../homicide.html

These stats shows a steady decline in the actual firearm homicides in SA between 1995 and 2007 with some blips in 1998 and 2005. So the firearm homicides in SA were declining before the implementation of the FCA and continued to decline after its implementation. To state that the FCA is the source of the decline in the number of firearm homicides is BS to put is mildly.

From another perspective: The below graph shows the SA firearm homicide rate per 100,000 of the population versus the SA homicide rate per 100,000 of the population. The overall homicide rate seems to be declining at a faster rate than the firearm homicide rate.

So they will gladly throw around "thumb-sucked" "data", but call them on in and disprove them, and then all of a sudden they don't care? Hypocrits!

Gee... ya think! By now they must know that the 4 times more likely to be killed if you have a gun this is bull... they still spout it forth as fact every time they get half a chance. The problem is that people tend to believe it... they've heard it so many times now... it must be true. Same thing with most the "facts" they use.

They have schooled themselves under the master... Joseph Goebbels.

This, coupled with Adele's clear infatuation with Mugabe's Zimbabwe, all points us in one direction.
