    Default Cowboy Action Shooting

Western Shooters of South Africa have received accreditation from the CFR and got Cowboy Action Shooting recognized as an official shooting sport in South Africa. There are established affiliated clubs in the Western Cape and Gauteng and others in the pipeline.

Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) is very social and family friendly. We use two single action revolvers, a lever action rifle and period correct shotgun, dress up in cowboy gear and have loads of fun. Find out more at www.westernshooters.co.za

Compliant members can get dedicated sports shooter status which helps with motivating the licenses for the required firearms. Meanwhile we don't mind helping each other out when someone is still waiting for his licenses to come through.

Check it out, you will love it!!

Thanks for the welcome. And yes, I'm one of the cowboys who shoot every third Saturday of the month at False Bay Gun Club near Fish Hoek. It's got some real crowd appeal. When there's a cowboy shoot on everybody at the range knows it and comes to look. I never experienced that with any other shooting sport I've done.

    Hi All

I have been a the shoot on Saturday. it was really exciting. The guys are the most friendliest I have ever met. They were extremely helpfull and thaught me a lot on tips and tricks with regards to loading the rollies. They even lent me a lever action rifle to shoot that part of the stage.

I had some cycling issues with one of the rollies.
The one person showed me how to disassemble it completely and polish up the parts. I did this yesterday and the problem was sorted out.

Another person helped me sight in my .50 cal Rifle. He was really helpful.

The guys are the best. The sport is exciting and the costumes was great.
Cant wait for the next shoot.

Radhir I saw your posting on whitesmoke. I'm in Vereeniging, so not to far from you, where did you go to the shoot? It looks like good fun.
