Licence refusals - Data base
There seem to be more and more refusals coming through.
Could we compile a data base and see just how bad this is. Its something I would like to take up with the secretariat.
Could I please have :
- User name:
- Date of submission:
- Refusal date:
- Submission type:
- Reason for refusal:
- Association if relevant
The myth of safe places : One of the lies sheeple tell themselves, to help make it through the day.
Use a gun that works EVERY TIME. "All skill is in vain when an Angel pisses in the flintlock of your musket."
While a 9 mm or .40 caliber bullet may or may not expand, it is an undeniable fact that a .45 caliber bullet will never shrink.

Re: Licence refusals - Data base
Finally received THE Letter last week, 27th of May 2011. (2 duplicates)
(The date on the letter says 2011/03/22 and the envelope was stamped 2011/05/18)
Already chatting with SSP.
The 2 major points they nailed me on was the case number for the first time I was held at gunpoint (in Aug 2003)
AND that I need to get a letter from my employer, stating my working hours and responsibilities.
I phoned my insurance company this morning and they helped me with the case numbers for both incidents (Aug 2003 & July 2009)Last edited by Bahrahsimo; 30-05-2011 at 11:41.

Re: Licence refusals - Data base
Finally got my letter today 27 May 2011, and guess what? The date stamp on it is 17 March 2011, does not leave me with allot of time to appeal.
Reasons for refusal:
Your application for a licence to possess a firearm in terms of section 13 of the Firearms Control Act, 2000 (Act No 60 of 2000) was refused due to, inter alia, the following reason/s:
• You are not allowed to possess more than one firearm for (handgun/shotgun) in terms of sect ion 13 of the Firearms Control Act, (Act No 60 of 2000) for the purpose of self-defense.
• You failed to provide any relevant supplementary documentation in support of your motivation.
• It is expected from you to provide a comprehensive motivation which must be substantiated with supplementary documentation when applying for a firearm licence.
Forget about the fact that I added a letter/affidavit stating that I will surrender my current SD firearm when this application is successful, and approx 5 pages of motivation (guess the motivation went into file 13). Is there anyone on the forum who might have had a similar case, and who could perhaps give some guidelines. It would be greatly appreciated.
