    Motivations are uber-important.

What GOSA is seeing is that motivation shop cut and paste jobs are being weeded out because most of them are, essentially, shite.

The deciding officers are being a whole lot more critical (as well they may be).

A motivation (particularly but not solely) for semi-auto rifles needs to be on point and exact.

Sorry, my mistake because I was under the impression that the appeal take ages. But I will appeal now because the refused it the second time also on the: failed to convince the registrar that any of my other guns cannot address the need. I sent a email to admin@gunownerssa.org to join as I cannot seem to join online as there is a problem with my payment or payment method.

I would not normally post something like this as i cannot substantiate it although it came to me via an impeccable source.

Besides which,it tickles my sense of humour as sad as it is.

A dedicated sport shooter in the western cape motivated his new shotgun licence to shoot clay pigeon.
Licence refused -- reason--a licence cannot be granted for the shooting of clay pigeons as they are a protected species.

    Steyr AUG refused 24/08/2017
Reason: no substantive reason other firearms could not be used

    Appealed: 25/08/2017, appealed rejected 15/11/2017
Reason: I did not have competency for manual rifle.

I do, I have competency for Handgun, rifle, shotgun, semi auto and black powder. I even mentioned this in my motivation as well as letter of appeal. The fuckers.

Copies included with the initial application but not with the appeal as the should draw my file. Anyway it’s in their own system.

Edit: my motivation runs along the lines of: I have XYZ competency- see attached.
