The price differential between Reloder and Norma is much less than the cost of even the cheapest bullet. You could trade off better consistency and velocity for a few less shots - not that I believe any of us are volunteering to fire fewer shots to save money.
Anyway, if you do want to up the velocity of your 9.3, RL-17 is the way to do it (despite the price)
Your logic is of course not incorrect, in my specific case I could get 2x containers of the 203B for not much more than 1x RL-17. I also have a usable amount of S335 allocated to the 9.3 (although I'm saving a set amount for my 308s and 223).

When these stocks run out I'll definitely reconsider the RL-17. Is it a ball powder or extruded? hiw much can you typically get into a 9.3 case before things get too compressed? and what cases are you using? I have a lot of PPU and PMP cases, but both have case volumes of only 74gr H2O, vs a theoretical case volume of 78gr H2O.

It's extruded powder, although quite small granules.

I have been using loads of 62-63gr RL-17 behind 285 and 286gr bullets. The cases seem full according to the shake test, although they are theoretically 96% full. I haven't bothered using a drop tube, just poured in via a funnel. So I am sure I could compact the load more if I needed to. In theory I hit Pmax and 100% case fill at approx 65.5gr RL-17 but I haven't gone there (yet). This would yield an estimated 2500 ft/s.

I am using Sako cases with a case capacity of 76.2 gr H2O. Haven't reloaded PMP cases, although I have some, plus some Norma's.
My OAL length is around 84mm, depending on the bullet used. I have the same rifle as you - as you know, this OAL is nowhere near the lands.

My main reason for going the RL-17 route was to try and get 320gr Woodleighs moving at a reasonable speed. With the various Somchem options I was barely getting over 2000 ft/s.

Happy to share load info via PM if you're interested.

Love the feel and the smooth action.

If all goes well she should will be tested this Wednesday.

    Mooi Grobbie

You can't go wrong with Warne rings for CZ&BRNO actions.

Fully dressed up, zeroed and tested. Silencer can be a bit quieter for my liking but its good enough.

Man I am excited. The Nikon Prostaf 4-16 is zeroed at 200m, making the thick part of the reticle on top basically 100 and the bottom one 300 at 10 power. Hawke rings look to be prime. Thanks for the suggestion.

Those sure look like Warne rings to me...

Enjoy every shot, the ZKK is a piece of hunting rifle mastery, and probably the best classic "improved Mauser" action there is, at least in my humble opinion!
