Galjoen Season!
With Galjoen season opening soon, it's time to get those light rods and reels sorted!
This year we've done our homework, and by diving often, know where the big ones are lurking. Can't wait to put a little bit of crayfish tail out....

Then I'll rather not tell you that I'm, right now, packing my jigs for a fishing trip for Yellow Tail, Dorados and Tuna on Saturday at Struisbaai....

Re: Galjoen Season!
Galjoen is an acquired taste. Flesh reminds you of white marble, with dark veins (for a lack of a better word). Delicious over the coals with just a hint of fish spice, white wine, garlic and butter.
I don't know about fly-fishing for them as we mostly target them with white mussel, crayfish tail or difficult to get wonder worms.

Re: Galjoen Season!
LOL, no. We like to stick to the rules. There are enough of the 'others' destroying our mussel beds and juvenile stock. Sad.
A better picture perhaps?
