Re: Leopold Scopes
Now that was a good thread, I thoroughly enjoyed the sarc that it dripped with - I miss deonh - he had a way with words.
Back to the thread, I recently bought a higher power Leupold 4.5-14x50 and experienced similar initial discomfort when using it. It is all magnification related. Turn the mag down to 9 or less and it feels just like the older Leupold that adorned the rifle initially.
I am a fan of Leupold - and I think that they are great.

Re: Leopold Scopes
For a few bucks more, have a look at the new Zeiss Duralyt scopes.
The 3-12x50 should be ideal for your needs.

Re: Leopold Scopes
Ive just spent some time in the States, and had the opportunity to visit some of the target ranges.
The things you see in a country where almost every person at a range can afford the best scopes and custom rifles is amazing. I was fortunate enough to look at some, and even handle some of the guys rifles and scopes by chatting and making friends etc.
Everyone had Nightforce and Sightron scopes, and some with Leopolds. When talking with everyone, most people agreed the Sightron was brightest and best value, the Nightforce was the toughest but a bit of a gamble on what glass you get, and the Leupold was for the guys that just liked Leupold.
