Production class magazines
Would this be legal? A production magazine with a different base plate.

Re: Production class magazines
I don't shoot IPSC. I was told that I couldn't use my standard Glock +2 shoes when I tried once. I don't see how this would be legal.

Re: Production class magazines
That is the 10-8 Performance floorplate for the M&P 14rd .45 magazine. Assuming the magazine itself is legal for your class I wouold think the floorplate would also be as it does not allow more rouinds to be loaded. Great product and it also changes the clunky 14 rounder into a useful CCW backup mag as well, but they ain't cheap!
I have not shot IPSC for so long now I had to look up how to spell it so check the rulebook before you buy one.Run Fast, Bite Hard!

Re: Production class magazines
These are the rules:
- Base plates and/or any other devices which provide additional ammunition capacity (e.g. "+2" magazine extensions), are prohibited.
- Aftermarket magazines which match the external dimensions of standard magazines offered by the OFM for the approved handgun are permitted.
I am only concerned about point 2 ...

Re: Production class magazines
If it does not look exactly like the OEM mag that you get with the firearm it's probably not legal for production Division.

Re: Production class magazines
From the IPSC rule book:
19.2. Magazines accessible to a competitor during a COF must not contain
more that 15 rounds at the Start Signal.
19.3. Sights may be trimmed, adjusted and/or have sight black applied.
20. Aftermarket parts, components and accessories are prohibited, except as
follows:
20.1. Aftermarket magazines are permitted, subject to 19.2 above.
so for as long as you dont have more then 15 rounds in the mag after the beep it doesn't really matter.

Re: Production class magazines
It seems there is a slight difference in wording from the IPSC webpage to the actual PDF rule book on the same website.
The extract I gave is according to the website division page and Malcolmw gave the extract from the rule book.
Reading this it seems legal and I am sure no one will complain at club level ...
