Shock Buffer for 1911
Hi all
My dad has a Paraordnance 1911 and while cleaning it last night he noticed his shock buffer was showing serious wear and needs replacement.
Any Idea of who stocks them and where can I get them. I see 1911 Parts on the net has them but they are in America.
Many Thanks
Neil

Try Khumba (Hailstorm). He sells Wilson components. If it is a 1911, I'm sure they will fit.

I would not put one of these in a carry gun.

Re: Shock Buffer for 1911
I have seen more than one disintergrate in the gun causing it to lock up solid.
One of them was brand new.Cattle die, kindred die, every man is mortal:

Re: Shock Buffer for 1911
I would'nt put them in any 1911 full stop! They short cycle the slide and they don't get replaced every 1000 rds like they should. They can work if you load up over a 185 factor. They can save the frame from cracking at the dust cover junction but only if you shoot zillions in the old 1911 frames like we did years ago. Show me an old, well used 1911 frame without a crack - they only crack so far.
With today's hi cap guns with modern materials and thick dust covers and with power factors of 170 - 175 they are not, IMO, necessary. Have fixed more cycling problems with guns fitted with them by throwing them out!
If they worked, the factories would fit them!If all else fails, use a bigger mousetrap
