Nelspruit / Ngodwana Shootingrange now open

The shooting range at the Ngodwana Mill next to the N4 between Nelspruit and Waterval Boven is open.

The club is currently hosting an IPSC type three gun event every first Sunday of the month. Shooting normally starts at about 8:30 and ends with a bring and braai and prize giving at the Ngodwana Dam lapa afterwards. I am sure other events can also be hosted if there is sufficient interest.

Any person interested in attending is more than welcome. Please send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will mail the map with directions to the range to you (I can't get the Google Earth map attached here)

The range still needs to be extended to 300m and we need to add all of the handgun bays. If there is any person/s from this area who may be willing to help the club with a decent back actor that we can use to dig the shooting bays from the mountain side and a dozer to movethe soil to where we need it to extend the range, also please contact me urgently.

The club currently does not have the funds to hire plant equipment for the job although we may be able to cover most of the fuel costs ...

Is this shooting range open to the public? How are the facilities? Due to a lack of a shooting range in the Nelspruit area, we created our own on a piece of land in Malelane, but this is just too far for a quick shoot.

Yes, it is open to the public. PM me if you are interested in using the range and I will send you the contact details of the chairman with whom you make the neccessary arrangements. Please also send me your cell numbers and e-mail addresses if you are interested in receiving other relevant club news such as event dates, etc.

At the moment there is only a rifle range (about 150m) that we are trying to extend to 300m. The smaller (hand and shotgun) shooting bays will be excavated into the mountain side to the one side of the range once we get someone to "sponsor" the required plant equipment. The cut material from these ranges will be used to back-fill the range to get to 300m.

For now you need to take everything that you need except for the target stands and back stop.

So having it on a Saturday would be nice as there will be rugby also in the afternoon!

The problem is that most of the club members work on Saturdays as well ...
