I have always thought that some of the anti-gun loonies, morals were questionable. Seems I may have been correct. http://bit.ly/eEtusn

Anti-gun ad shows group has no shame

By the Daily News
Running anti-gun ads tied to the assassination attempt against a U.S. congresswoman and bystanders in the crowd is simply reprehensible.

It is an insult to the millions of law-abiding gun owners in this country who own weapons for hunting, target-shooting and home defense.

In viewing these ads, one must also consider the source.

Since the senseless shooting of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., several of her aides and innocent bystanders on Jan. 8, anti-Second Amendment groups have been working overtime to exploit the tragedy for their anti-gun agendas.

These ads and comments by some are simply shameful and show how desperate these groups are.

In this country, we are fortunate that the Second Amendment, which guarantees our citizens the right to bear arms, is part of our bill of rights.

The person responsible for the shooting of Giffords was unstable. Although this shooting was unfortunate, an entire population of gun owners shouldn’t be painted with the same brush.

The Brady Campaign is the latest on the attack on Second Amendment rights.

The group has coined the term “assault clip” to describe magazines that are capable of holding more than 10 rounds. They claim these “assault clips” lead to more crime and should be banned.

They fail to offer any statistics to back up these unfounded claims.

For two decades, the Brady Campaign has been pushing an anti-gun agenda, but the American people are smart enough to see through its radical rhetoric.

The new ad shows a young male shooter on a range shooting a pistol at silhouette targets, first depicting a young girl, then a series of other innocent citizens.

The imagery is meant to support the Brady assertion that “large capacity ammunition magazines are designed to enable shooting mass numbers of people quickly and efficiently without reloading.”

It is evident that this group truly has no shame and is simply desperate to push its misguided agenda.

The ad is a slap in the face to law-abiding gun owners. If the Brady Campaign did its research, it would realize that the nation’s violent crime rate is at a 35-year low.

Groups like the Brady Campaign and others simply have no shame as evidenced by their past actions and this recent ad.

Their efforts might be more productive if they were directed at identifying and dealing with mentally ill individuals capable of violent acts rather than targeting law-abiding gun owners.
