Since this thread is up again, my two bits.
I have a certificate for attending an ASP course which was interesting but the real eye opener is Kelly McCann's work on its use in real life situations. When you on the ground with a person twice your weight on you KM will teach you things one would never imagine possible with an ASP.
It is much more than just a tool to keep at distance or to bliksem someone. I prefer the ASP brand. I have the 31 and 16. Enjoy.

I have the 21". The biggest I see listed on the ASP website is 26", but I think that would be too much for me as I carry it loose in my cargo shorts pocket. I wouldn't mind learning a bit more on how to use it properly. Any ideas who does such training in the Jhb area ?

You can do an ASP certified course in JHB. We are one of the few places were non LEO can get this training.

    Good start.
