    I can see the point in that. The A3 flat top, hmmmmmmm.

    But given the mostly-for-sporting-use climate with an AUG, LM or AR I'd take an AR.

    I tend to the view that on the whole, the biggest difference between the evolution of the AR vs the LM is that the former is a piece of US kit and has a huge "aftermarket" (I use the term very loosely) support system behind it which allows you to acquire just about every trick you could ever want. The power of the free market if you will. The basic design of neither has changed terribly much since the early 80's.

    I have an LM6 with one of Khumba's RMR mounts on and a Trijicon RMR triangle reticle set with the centre at 25m and the tip at 100m. The dust cover on mine is an unbelievably tight fit. I've also got a collapsible stock on it. When I bought it we didn't have ARs freely available here. It works fine for me and I'm not bored with it yet. No regrets so far and I suspect I'll have it for many years still.
