Re: rifle safe inspection
They probably wont check the details of how it is attached, as long as it is attached.
Pesonally though, 2 x 10mm rawl plugs would not do it for me.
My safe is mounted in a corner on the floor with two bolts in the floor and two bolts on each side. and that is a handgun safe.
Its your choice but why take the risk. more really is MORE in this case and a rifle safe is easy to find, so if they do find it, Ide want them to be able beat seven shades of shit out out of it without it budging at all, then they will just give up.
If it moves with a srewdriver / crowbar behind it, which im pretty certain it will with two 10mm bolts they will keep going until they get it loose.

+1 LCG!

Re: rifle safe inspection
Some DFO's open the safe and try to shake it lose, if it moves or feels loose they fail it, the reason they open the safe is to get a better grip on it.
Some also want four bolts in the wall and two in the floor.

Re: rifle safe inspection
Once your DFO has passed the safe what SAPS form is the one they need to give you? My safes were inspected in 2006 and I was left with a SAPS 523. Please clarify for me. SAPS 538 makes a specific reference to safe inspections, is that perhaps the one?

Re: rifle safe inspection
In a nutshell.
They don't give you any form, they complete a seperate form and attach it to your application which goes to Pretoria.
