I went to my DFO today in Benoni, they said they wouldn't print it out for me but if I brought my license application in they would attach it to that. So I'm not sure if that means they print it at that time or attach it digitally after scanning it or more likely just add the ref number to the forms. Either way doesn't bother me because it means I don't have to wait for the card.

It must be printed and you supposed to sign a log that you have received it

I had the same issue that I eventually went to a dfo in the area where I worked and ask them to print it.

It's a process when you collect a print out from one police station and you required to return to your original dfo to sign the register that you have received a print out of the competency just bear in mind you could anger your dfo so try be nice about it.

My brother has applied for his SLR competency in April 2018. Still nothing. After 10 months (february) the DFO "discovered" the application still lying in a box at the station. Pathetic

I went to my DFO today to do a new section 13 license application. I submitted my old but still valid handgun competency which expires in August 2019. I did a competency renewal in Jan 2019 and was approved in March. My DFO then went on the system and printed 2 copies of my competency certificate ( the renewal one) and stamped. The one she attached to my application and the other one she gave me and said they will SMS me when my competency card is there. So it depends from DFO to DFO I guess
