Robert Ruark
Horn of the Hunter
Something of Value
The Old Man and the Boy
Poor No More
The Old Man's Boy Grows Older
Uhuru
Use Enough Gun
The Old Man and the Boy series is still being printed. All the rest are long out of print but well worth the effort to find. Many Public Libraries may have one or more of them.
Michael Crichton
Rising Sun (movie was so-so...book is great)
Timeline (yeah, the movie sucked, but the book does not)
Jurassic park (I don't care if you did see the movie...read the book)
State of Fear
Next
Crichton passed away November of last year, for any fans who have not heard.

Re: Some of my Favourite Books
excellent list
I would add to that all of Clancy's novels as well as his factual books.
Stephen Leather is a good read in general
that aside my library focuses mainly on the factual and textbooks pertaining to the industry
Also Vince Flynn is excellent airport reading and I read a novel by Ollie North which I picked up in the PX which I really enjoyed.
Uhuru was really good btw and to add to Crichton maybe some David Morell (I think that was his names a good few novels on the Opus Dei theme) have a few more really great titles will put it up as soon as I have more than two minutes
I am studying an awesome brand of leg fighting which was inspired by dung beetles and I think my brand of Kraft Manure is superior to all other styles ever invented. Furthermore I challenge all other manurists to a rolling contest where we shall establish whose manure ball is the biggest! I shall call it Honest Kraft Manure and declare it superior to all other brands of manure and will tell you that I have claimed the lineage directly to Imshi the great Dragon Kru Master Beetler who invented manuring, by gathering all manure from different animals together and making it work as the worlds most effective fertilizer. I proved myself by being members of not one but three super elite special gardening departments who were responsible for spreading manure to combat weed infestations!

Ooh-ooh (waving hand frantically in the air) given that we're talking about Crichton and Morell don't forget Pat Conroy and especially his novel "The Lords of Discipline". Awesome book. Think I'll re-read it (again). The movie wasn't too bad either.

Re: Some of my Favourite Books
Oh cloven-hoofed one and Master of the SSP, this (The Lords of Discipline) is a book about manhood and becoming a man amongst men... The Ladies of Discipline appear at Teezers on Loop Street every Friday night at 21h00... or so I'm informed by those that visit such dens of filth and degradation grn1
Now back to your books please lads! hjk
