Fenix Tactical Torches!
Hi guys,
Been looking for a decent enough tactical torch for some time now that will is small enough for EDC but yet more than adequate for self-defense purposes ...
This weekend I came accross the Fenix range of flashlights (LED) that incorporate 5 different modes: Primary -> Max (180 lumens) -> Low -> Strobe Mode -> SOS Mode
The model that I was looking at is the Fenix PD20
Does anyone on the forum have this specific flashlight?
Your thoughts, comments, reviews etc. would be most appreciated

See here http://www.gunsite.co.za/forum/index.php?topic=1296.0
If this light is not suitable then contact MRS Techniques 012 993 4844 for Fenix.
I prefer rechargeable Li-ion torches - economy - performance.

Hi Khumba,
Many thanks for taking your time and replying ...
I went ahead and purchased the Very compact Fenix PD20 after doing some additional research on the net
Great little light which I hope to do a review on soon and post my findings accordingly

Re: Fenix Tactical Torches!
They are cool and very easy to carry clipped into a pocket.

Re: Fenix Tactical Torches!
I have been using a fennix E 20
What i like about it
cheap :Paid just R300 for it and it uses two AA batteries
pushes out 109 lumins of light using a Cree bulb (this is a type of led)
you can adjust the focus of the lens so that you can use it for working with without
blinding yourself
Easy to use:has a tail cap and no settings to fiddle with
Things I don't like
Not designed as an impact h
got mine at a locksmith shop in knysna

Re: Fenix Tactical Torches!
If you have a fenix torch, like I have now, the Pd20 for eg, you may be missing out on its light modes...
The Pd20 has 6 modes ,but not manual..
So check this out http://www.fenixlight.com/movie/ligh...x_outputs.wmv, its a 1.8MB download but shows you how the get there..
Basically you start off by hand tightening your torch..Then a hard click for mode 1, a soft click thereafter takes you to strobe
The hand untighten by 10 degrees.. Then a hard click for mode 3 and a series of slow soft clicks there after will take you through mode 4,5,6
Also with light on now, turn it back to full hand tightening which will take you back to full power mode..
Brilliantly!!!

Re: Fenix Tactical Torches!
mmm
Let me know what you see..
Are you looking for something bigger than a Streamlight Scorpion and smaller than a Maglite, or what?
I have looked at some knives at Tactical Defense's table @ the show on Saturday.. but see nothing I like..
I am looking for on belt, concealed, maximum draw speed.. Can you suggest ?

Re: Fenix Tactical Torches!
I've just placed an order for a NiteCore Extreme HA Bezel R2 Edition for $92 incl free shipping to my PO Box.
From www.4sevens.com
The site also sells Fenix and other nice tactical lights.

Re: Fenix Tactical Torches!
I am putting together an order for Olight M20 (250 lumen multi battery compatible) and Olight M30 (700 lumen multi batt compatible) lights at the moment.
They allow easy change output settings
These lights have very user friendly interfaces and output management circuitry.
Hold on until you see prices - I predict that you will be surprised - info soon.
I have a M20 and I can say that I am thoroughly happy with the light.
Good quality, good finish, economical on rechargeable 18650 lithiums.
You can read a review of the M20 here http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/...d.php?t=207836
and the M30 here http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/...d.php?t=231491
It is going to be worth the while waiting on these lights ;)
