A question regarding the import process though. From what I understand these are pre-bought before placing the order and an end user certificate is issued. What happens once that firearm arrives here if:
1. My licence is refused? Are there issues with reselling it - IE: someone else now becomes the end user?
2. I want to transfer it to a local dealer so I can shoot it while my licence is being processed?

The EUC specifies that you cannot export or resell or otherwise dispose of the firearm outside SA or to another person without the prior consent of the US DOS. So if you cannot get a licence we will have to get the consent of the US DOS to certify a new end user. We have yet to get information on how this will work in practice. We do not foresee a problem due to the very good record keeping in SA when it comes to firearms and firearm licences.

Transferring to a another dealer so you can utilise the dealer firearms range will imo not be a problem because it is not being sold or disposed of to the other dealer.
