Hi Guys

My section 16 licence was approved on Monday 6 November 2017. Phoned CFR this morning to inquire about the licence card only to be told that the card hasn't been printed yet!!! Anybody else experiencing the same problem?

Correct me if I am wrong but admin staff and your DFO that works on firearm licenses, well, they have bugger all to do with patrols done by other Police officers.

Last week our DFO was not in the office due to the local by elections and patrols needed.

That is what I was told.

Called CFR and starting to get concerned.

Applied for my S13 at Douglasdale on 14 Nov. Now 5th Dec and CFR has no record of my S13. I.e not yet been sent in.

Should I be concerned or not?

What the hell is " extra festive season" ?
Are they just super festive this year and take (I wont say get) more days off (because the do not do patrols other than maybe going to do a safe inspection) or are they adding on an extra part/extending their festive season?

I've trying to get an update on my license app by calling the National CFR call centre every day this week and no one answeres the phone. Even while staying on the line for 10+ minutes at 22h00. Anyone else got hold of them this week?

I got through to them on Sunday afternoon and this morning around 6:30. I haven’t had much luck at night or during business hours.

While I’m here:

3 license application, all section 16 (1 Shotgun, 2 handguns)
Submitted: 28 September
DFO SMS: 11 October
Received at CFR (No SMS): 24 November
In Consideration (No SMS): ~ 12 December

The two handguns are currently in consideration while the shotgun is in Correspondence. This is the first time I’ve heard of this status and it has all the same documentation attached as the handguns so I don’t know what correspondence they are talking about.

My update reads(previously under consideration) now send to licensing!!!

Update: Handguns both approved today 15-12-2017.

Shotgun still in correspondence, whatever that means.

Now to wait for the cards.

It means they want additional documentation. Could be a SAPS350 or something else. Most of the time the other paperwork catches up and the status moves on.
