Them's the same as the "official" figures I was referring to earlier. 825 is just barely over 2700.

I have some of the 'library ammo' that LEW used when the developed the gun, I also have Winchester FMJ whitebox, and my own 'smokin' 62gr that I will test.

Barnes confirmed to me that MV loss in 223 Rem will be from 25ft/s to 50ft/s for every 1" the barrel is shorter depending on barrel and weather conditions.

The Barnes 223 TSX 55gr is designed to expand at speeds as low as 1900ft/s. (Imo this to allow for reliable expansion at slower speeds for eaxample due to extended application distances).

So this confirms my post above:

    MV for 55gr 223 Barnes is 3240ft/s

MV lost per 1" of barrel shorter than 24" calculated at 45ft/s (fairly conservatively imo).

A 11" barreled LM6 would have a MV of around 2655ft/s = more than enough to be very very effective out to around 100m and most probably well beyond that imo.

    A 13" barreled LM5 would have a MV of around 2745ft/s

Even my Sig 553 Commando will give a MV of around 2565ft/s with which I will be more than happy for CQB application...
