Pretoria robbers disarm cops

Johannesburg - A clothing shop and three police officers were robbed at a Menlyn Park shop on Thursday, Gauteng police said.

A group of men entered the shop on Atterbury Road around noon and robbed the owner of an undisclosed amount of cash, said spokesperson Tshisikhawe Ndou.

Three officers arrived while the robbery was in progress. The thieves disarmed them and fled in a minibus.

Don't be TOO hasty to judge. If you weren't there you don't know what happened. While I also feel that most SAPS members are WAY too complacent, there are a number of things that could have happened in a way that makes this not their fault. On the other hand it could be their stupidity as well, but the point is we don't know.

agreed white_raebbit however my comment is double edged we get judged if dissarmed and yet it is by the way when it happens to SAPS no harm no cry just a statement bud.

Besides I work with the saps and they good guys ;-)

From other papers it appears that 2 of the 5 robbers got away with the R7000 they stole from the shop, all their own firearms, 3 SAPS service pistols and 1 SAPS R5 rifle.

No worries man, my comment was also just a "2 cents" addition and not meant towards anyone specifically :-)
