    Default Who makes good Boots

I need new boots and you fellows seem like boot guys. I need good boots, brown leather, lace up and above ankle height. I have been through Trailbusters, Jim Green, Hi Tek, and lastly Wolverine. They all last about a year only. I am disappointed with my wolverine boots as the heel is collapsing and the sole is separating from the leather upper.

I am a farmer and wear the boots every day.

I see Blundestone have released a lace up boot, any comments on them?

I went through the same exercise this month. I went with Merrell as I find the new version of the Trailbuster not up to the task . I've had my pair, which isn't even two years old, re-stitched twice! If I didn't get the Trailbusters for free (uniform issue) I wouldn't buy them. I miss the old red-laced leather vellies. If you can find 'em where you are look at a pair of Danner Workman Series or Work Boots. Very well made and will probably outlast even a farmer! ;D

Danner Ok I will check, I like Merrell but want a boot that covers my ankles, when you walk in ploughed lands it stops the earth filling your shoes up.

    Thank you

I shall call it Honest Kraft Manure and declare it superior to all other brands of manure and will tell you that I have claimed the lineage directly to Imshi the great Dragon Kru Master Beetler who invented manuring, by gathering all manure from different animals together and making it work as the worlds most effective fertilizer. abhm, thanks, yes we can also get Converse in, but you guys must remember, on bringing small quantities it cost about R200 shipping per boot, add on top of that 30% customs and some handling fees, and a $50 cost price boot could land me at cost about R1000, but if there are some interest, and the people are not in a big hurry, then I can definately look at some options, only if there are real interest.

Thanks Men I will google all of the suggestions. I don't mind paying for good boots, I really think they are worth it, Piet they just don't last, I dont drag my heels or generally abuse the boots, I also do regular admin on their upkeep, I think the killer is the dew as I am out at dawn every morning they get wet almost every day. I think that this has allot to do with their demise.

    Thanks Guys

    Converse
I bought mine in Afghanistan wore them there after about a year later they started looking less than parade ground and in a fit of HSLD self awareness I tried Oakleys, they lasted three weeks, I then tried 511's, they lasted two weeks back to the Converse (the original pair) Off to Iraq and the converse still held pride of place
All in all three years total with many hundreds of km's and the converse, scuffed as sin and smellier than a pig farm, still graft!

I also have a pair of Danners which I just dont get the same comfort level as the converse but they are tough though.
