    Nice Khumba.. very very nice....

How 'bout a close-up on the holographic sight mount please?

And how "stable" is the rail mounted on the gas tube?

I need info on the rail. Who did it? How much etc.

    Story on rear sight?

db I'll do a pic tonight. It is a Burris Fast Fire with protection "wings" mounted flat onto the dust cover after the rear sight module has been removed.

The rail is 100% stable and low - it clamps onto the gas tube and also rides on the barrel with halfmoon "legs" fitting the barrel profile - so there is no way it moves sideways or forward = precision fit manufactured. Aluminium. Designed and sold by MRS Techniques.

Does it permit co-witness do you think?

SSP rail is R795. Very nicely made and annodized.

It does not allow co-witness but you can still see the top 2/3 of the front ring through the micro optic so it's very close range usable and with a QD mount it's quick to throw off the optic if it fails and used with the standard LM front and rear sights.

The Burris sitting low on the dust cover allows full view of the whole front sight and ring which allows excellent use of the front ring for close range usage should the optic fail.

I am planning to try the can at PDPC range at 8h30 on Sat if you want to see it - will be there for about 30 mins - and if I have time zero the Burris.

Any approximate price on that can and does it need to be rethreaded?

Craig it's around R5.8k SRP here in SA, dealer is less - find out from Jackson Rifles in UK what it would cost - they are the "canexperts" there.

The specific model is the QD model - all I had to do for the LM is to get a Wilson Flash Hider (but any A1 or A2 would do) re-threaded. Works like a charm - easy on easy off drop in and secure.

It is a high quality compact unit that compares to the best made in the US and even surpasses most on function and durability (even full auto sustained fire usage).

Thanks Khumba. Just chatted to Jackson Rifles, while very helpful, buying for them without being a dealer is a no go. A permit is required for a can in the UK and certificate for export.

He also said that any A1 or A2 flash hider will work, which is good news.

BTW, R5800 is a good price.

Thanks for the post, you managed to make me jealous, again!
