New Dave Sheer LM5's
Hi.
Would anybody be able to shed some light on the LM5 rifles Dave Sheer will be importing?
Apparently (according to DS) the LM5's will be brand new, manufactured with the tooling bought when LIW/Vektor closed down, and will be manufactured in and imported from the US.
Should sell locally for about R9500 + VAT, which is less than the current price for a Dashprod SAR M14.
Thanks.

Re: New Dave Sheer LM5's
Well... what they AREN'T is manufactured with tooling from Vektor. Vektor still maunfactures R/LMs for themselves. In fact they've just finished (this month) a large order for the SANDF.
These are on new tooling, Haven't had one in my hands yet."Always remember to pillage before you burn"

Re: New Dave Sheer LM5's
If they are actually coming from the US beware. They may be made on cast receivers and / or with US made barrels...non-chrome lined. There have been many problems with LM / Galil clones made in the US and I would never choose one over a Vektor made gun. but I also, obviously, have not seen any of these.

Re: New Dave Sheer LM5's
Am I right in saying that they won't be "LM5's" due to the fact that LM5's are VEKTOR build . Those will be called something else for example "Galil" or "Golani" or whatever the manufacturer calls them.
And as far as I know and read on the web the Locally build LM's is of much better quality than others.

Re: New Dave Sheer LM5's
I spoke with Carina / Kariena. She mentioned them to me. Seems like the Norinco M4s might be good value, although she declined to give me a price on them.
