update- after being on hold for 7 minutes, I got grunts and monosyllablyes from a very underwhelmingly enthusiastic operator. all they uttered was "ynghhmf" and "IDnum"
some training in basic conversation skills would be awesome.

my comp is apparently at 'receiving' in Pretoria...

Strongs buddy. I used to phone on Sunday nights between 6 and 8. Everytime I phoned, I had a white lady (not meaning to be rasist, but you can hear clearly what se say) who was vary helpfull and she was the one last Sunday that gave me the gr8 news that my license was aproved.

Phoning the call centre is like a hit or miss, sometimes you get the really helpfull people and sometimes the people that are just there to collect a paycheck.

I phone continously until i get someone that is able and willing, so just keep going.

Mostly a miss though - I've never really got anyone that's really helpful. I'll try phoning on Sun as see if I get any luck.

so, I was on hold for literally a few seconds short of an hour- my cellphone usually drops a call after 1 hour, and I was waiting for it to hang up when suddenly I heard a voice!!!

no progress from a week ago, comp is still at receiving in PTA :(

Thanks Arno! congrats on getting your 3. It just frustrates me that there is nothing we can do and seem to be totally at their mercy. they are supposed to be public servants, but what do you do when the service is not up to par? you can't "take your money to a competitor"
