re-licencing deadline extension???

I just heard from a friend that the deadline for re-licencing has been extended for a further month.He says he heard it on a local radio station.East Coast Radio.Anyone know anything about this?

I have just been on the ECR website and visited their newswatch blog. According to that blog SAGA have made a submission to the Minister to extend the period by a further 30 days. I have also emailed SAGA about the submission and now await their reply.

Ok got a reply from SAGA.

They say they are not aware of any application to extend the period by 30 days.

However they did say this;
"The Central Firearm Register has ordered all Firearm Registration Centres to remain open until midnight tonight (31 March 2009). If you haven’t yet done, go along and lodge your renewal applications while you have this chance."

Yeah, come on people, get your weapons relicensed so that you dont have to give it up! It is YOUR weapon, not the govt's.

Spoke to Henk at Garbs. He spoke to a (senior) DFO. No extension after midnight.

+10000 ABHM.i would think that it would mainly just be procrastination that has lead to people to be in the position of needing to beat the deadline.

if it was important in the 1st place,they would have sorted it out already.i do understand that some folks may have valid reasons but i fear that they may be few and far between.

Do not get me wrong I support each and every application but my sympathy with all who are complaining, moaning whingeing and whining who have had had a LONG time to get their act together, is somewhat limited!
