Occasional Sport Shooting Motivation Assistance Required
Currently have Glock 19 for Self Defence. Have purchased a Glock 23 for occasional sport shooting. Any ideas what to put in the motivation as to why I want a .40 for sport shooting? Any assistance would much appreciated please!

What the other two before me have said...
And, only you know your reasons for buying a particular calibre for a particular purpose, so those reasons of yours IS your motivation.

Apologies for not introducing myself first
Have had a look around and havent managed to find stuff
Want to license the .40 as a spare and cant license it for self defence. I figure occasional sport shooting as the best thing to license as.

You a member with an accredited shooting body?
That will help with your license application.

Re: Occasional Sport Shooting Motivation Assistance Required
If he is then why should he need help in motivating the pistol?! Anyway membership is not a requirement for occasional licences.
Kippie: Your statement about wanting the pistol as a spare would surely shaft you if the SAPS reads it! If you want to licence the pistol for occasional sports shooting then find a sport that interests you, go and visit a couple of shoots, talk to some of the competitors, and then explain in your motivation why and what you want the pistol for. If you cannot do this then you don't have a case!

I might be wrong, but don't you need Dedicated status for 2nd handgun?

Re: Occasional Sport Shooting Motivation Assistance Required
You dont need dedicated status for a secondhand gun.
But for licensing a secondhandgun under section 15 being a member of an acredited shooting body will help your license app, especially if you alreday have a handgun.

Re: Occasional Sport Shooting Motivation Assistance Required
Saying you want a second gun for occasional sport shooting means that he needs to be able to prove it. Being a member of a club will help.
