It makes sense. I had 3 or 4 of the SW380 in stock when I ordered and no demand for the calibre so I didn't want to pay S&W in advance for another lot that would sit around for 2-3 years. Space and overdraft facilities are limited. If I'd had a crystal ball I'd have ordered a bunch of M15s.... The ones I've ordered now will take ages to get here (and by then the trend will have moved to .380 because ammo will be expensive...) Sigh. Wot fun!

Beg to disagree, our stock moved out in 2 days. Call me and I'll give you 3 dealers who are begging for them!

I even brought my little 'toy gun' into the shop and asked to be shown to a potted plant.

Well, I can hardly say that I am surprised. Who would be stupid enough to pay R5K for one of these given that (a) for a few grand more they can have a proper M&P9 (maybe even a compact) and (b) the 9 mmP ammunition costs about half as much as the .380 ammunition?

They would be smart to take the laser out of that thing and market it at two thirds of the current price. I understand that some of the US police departments that have acquired these units as off duty firearms have requested that they be supplied without the lasers.

:-) It is a very nice little gun, especially for deep concealment. Also, it should do quite well if loaded with a nice hot +P (which Smith & Wesson say it is quite capable of handling).

I guess Calvin was listening, as there are some on the new order.
Actually, there are some BG380s on the new order too. The order acknowledgment says earliest availability date for them is May 2012. The 15s supposedly will be available from March. We'll see...

Just being curious, why no SD 9 /40's in the order?
